Nathaniel "Nat" Swindler, the fourth child born to the late Bessie B. Swindler and Willie E. Swindler, Sr., was born on September 25, 1937, in Newberry, South Carolina. He departed this life on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.
Nathaniel attended public school in Newberry, South Carolina, where he met and married the late Lillie Fair. From that union, one son, Luke, was born. He later moved to Washington, D. C. He later met and married Ruth Mosley.
Nathaniel worked as a butcher for years and as a groundskeeper in the Federal Government until he retired.
"Pop-Pop", as he was affectionally called by his grandkids, loved his family. He enjoyed playing bid whist, hunting, fishing, and watching old western movies. He also enjoyed watching baseball and his Washington Redskins. He enjoyed traveling to South Carolina to visit with family and friends each summer. He loved his cars and trucks and took pride in keeping them clean.
Preceding Nathaniel in death were his sisters, Carrie and Dorothy Mae Swindler, and brothers, Jake and Willie Swindler.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his son Luke and his wife Lynn; grandson Luke II, granddaughter Leah; step-daughter Wilhelmina Taylor; step-grandson Daniel Taylor; step-son James Mosley; four sisters Helen, Annie, Laura, and Lola; one brother John; one aunt Queen Esther; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
