Theodore McKinley Simmons, son of Thelma Pittman was born February 28, 1944, in Whitakers, NC.  He was educated in North Carolina Public School System. He attended Swift Creek High School. Theodore enjoyed helping other people; he was an affectionate and compassionate person who enjoyed life. He also enjoyed being around his grandchildren. Theodore also loved watching cowboy movies and spending time talking to his friends. He is loved and will be missed.

Theodore departed this life September 22, 2022, at home in Landover, MD to join his heavenly father.  He was the oldest of his siblings.  He was a fighting warrior; his spirit was always great!  He wore a smile to make you think he was feeling fine all the time.

He was preceded in death by his Mother Thelma Pittman, Grandparents Bonies Simmons and Lela Simmons; his son Theodore Simmons Jr; and grandson Emanuel Simmons.

Theodore leaves to cherish in memory his children: sons Jerome Simmons (Shountell) of Capitol Heights, MD, Reginald Simmons (Denitra) of District Heights, MD, Lonnell Hoes of Hyattsville, MD, Tony Hoes of Laurel, MD; daughters, Veronica Simmons of Landover, MD and Sakura Dobbs of Washington, DC; one sister Gloria Taylor (Anthony) of Raleigh, NC and one brother Darrell Pittman of Raleigh, NC; nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends; and two ex-wives Annie Simmons of Landover, MD and Denise Simmons of Laurel, MD.
