Philip Bartholomew Furr was born in Washington, DC to Allethia Virginia Furr and Victor Lee Furr, Sr. He graduated from Fairmont Heights High School in 1967 and worked as a truck driver until his retirement. Phil was guaranteed to have a joke for everyone he met and continued with his jovial nature until the end of his life. Philip passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at home surrounded by family and loved ones. Phil was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Howard, Kenneth, Victor and Gregory. He is survived by three daughters, Kamilla, Tia (Ricardo) and Phyllis (Tony); three grandchildren, Nathan, Tenia and Rian; his sister, Victoria; brother, James; fiancé Linda and her daughter and grandchildren (whom he loved as his own); he is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and coworkers. Visitation 10:00 a.m., until time of service 11:00 a.m., on Friday, November 3 at Hemingway Memorial AME Church, 6330 Gateway Blvd, District Heights, MD 20747.
