MICHAEL STANLEY DATCHER

June 8, 1946 – April 24, 2020

Michael Stanley Datcher was born in Washington, D.C. on June 8, 1946.  He departed this life on Friday, April 24, 2020. He attended D.C. Public Schools and DC Teachers College.

Michael was a man of many talents. As a young man, he started his career as a night manager at McDonald's Restaurant. His other occupations included property manager and manager of a pest-control company. He was a visionary and made such enterprising efforts as a restaurant owner. Michael was also a skilled plumber, electrician, florist, printer, carpenter and an all-around handyman. He retired as a property manager in 2017.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia M. Brooks; his mother, Ellen F. Datcher; his sister, Irene Datcher; brothers, Marshall John Datcher and Tehran Datcher; children, Sean Datcher, Kimberly Hughes, Matthew Datcher, Kevin Brooks, and Bruce Brooks; 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many, many other relatives and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his fathers, Marshall O. Datcher and James E. Browne; sister, Lillian F. Fernanders; and brother, James E. Browne, Jr.
