ALTHEA VIRGINIA CARROLL BACON (Age 95) Of Washington, DC, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, January 4, 2017. Beloved wife for 53 years of the late Eugene L. Bacon, Sr. Althea is survived by four of their six children, Eugene L. "Mike" Bacon, II (Marilyn), Keith D. Bacon (Barbara), Althea Carol Bacon (Margaret) and Kevin J. Bacon (Kim); six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Doris M. Early; and a host of other relatives and friends. Two sons, Mark E. Bacon (Rhondra) and Byron L. Bacon, predeceased her. She is also predeceased by her parents, Clinton T. and Nancy J. Carroll, and siblings, Clinton T. Carroll, II and Emma Jeanne Connolly. She graduated from Dunbar High School and the University of the District of Columbia. Althea enjoyed cooking, traveling, crossword puzzles, sculpture, painting and pottery. She loved preparing feasts for all holidays and baking treats with her grandchildren. Visitation 10:00 a.m., OmegaOmega ceremony 10:30 a.m., followed by Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7 at Church of Our Saviour, 1616 Irving Street, N.E., Washington, DC 20018. Inurnment 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 8 at Arlington National Cemetery.
